It’s a Ship!

The crew of the R/V Heraclitus is proud to announce that we’ve finally completed the hull after covid lockdowns, summer heat waves, floods, coldspells and other denying forces. We are now continuing to paint and outfit our floating world. Owning and operating an oceangoing ship is our unique tool. Once the new R/V Heraclitus is launched, we will continue our mission to sail the seas. Engaging with coastal communities and the natural world we are going to see for ourselves what is going on in both remote and busy parts of the ocean and share these learnings with the global community.

We will be looking for keys to both new or very old ways in which humans can act as sustainable participants of the biosphere, and hopefully help to implement some of the innovative findings along the way. So in the ‘rebuild’ of our oceangoing world, the Heraclitus, is the key to our real-time hands-on approach...
